Chris’ journey toward becoming a Sport and Exercise Psychologist (in training) began with a lifelong involvement in sport. From an early age, he competed locally, regionally, and nationally in cross country and swimming, while also participating in a range of recreational sports including tennis, football, and squash. These experiences shaped his understanding of the physical and psychological demands athletes face across different levels of performance.

During his university years, Chris found his primary sporting focus in triathlon. He progressed rapidly through the ranks, transitioning from novice to elite competition. His career highlights include representing Wales at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and achieving multiple top-10 finishes on the Professional Ironman 70.3 circuit.

In 2019, Chris’ competitive career came to an unexpected end following significant health and wellbeing challenges, leading to his retirement from professional sport. This period provided valuable perspective on the complexities of athletic performance, identity, and life beyond competition, reinforcing the importance of psychological support within sport.

Now working in Sport Psychology, Chris is passionate about supporting athletes to develop the mental skills needed to perform, adapt, and thrive. His interests include confidence, motivation, performance pressure, identity, transitions in sport, and maintaining wellbeing alongside high performance. Drawing on both lived experience and academic training, Chris aims to offer a supportive, reflective, and practical approach tailored to each athlete’s needs.

Chris has experience working with athletes across a range of sports and competitive levels. He offers the option of a free 30-minute intake call to explore goals and determine whether working together would be a good fit.
